I've always been more of a Roger Waters fan, but that doesen't mean that I don't love David's work too!
David Gilmour
It's often that I compare a song with one of the band members, and this has David Gilmour written all over!! And that's why I will put a video of the song here, from 2006 when David had a gig in Gdansk. Richard Wright was also in this gig <3
It's something about this performance that makes my eyes fill up with tears everytime I watch it.. <3 Maybe it's because it was one of Richards last gigs, and he did such a good job.. Or maybe it's just that this was a really great gig...
"Atom heart mother" cover
Anyways.. I don't know anything special of what this song is about, but it does makes me happy, so it must have been something good!! The lyrics are so cheerful, and they kind off describe a perfect summer(which we all miss here in Norway!)..
Here's the lyrics as well, and have a lovely night
When that fat old sun in the sky is falling,
Summer evening birds are calling.
Summer's thunder time of year,
The sound of music in my ears.
Distant bells,
New mown grass smells so sweet.
By the river holding hands,
Roll me up and lay me down.
And if you sit,
Don't make a sound.
Pick your feet up off the ground.
And if you hear as the warm night falls
The silver sound from a time so strange,
Sing to me, sing to me.
When that fat old sun in the sky is falling,
Summer evening birds are calling.
Children's laughter in my ears,
The last sunlight disappears.
